You are a hybrid of the Fight trauma response and anxious attachment

You tend to experience high reactivity and high levels of conflict in your relationships due fears around abandonment and rejection.

The Fight-Anxious Archetype

You might struggle with high levels of anxiety while constantly feeling on edge in your relationship because you’re pre-occupied with being rejected/betrayed/abandoned.  You may show up as hyper-critical, reactive, impulsive and/or controlling because you likely date the Flight-Avoidant type which triggers your insecurities.  

For example, if you fear abandonment, you may get angry at your partner for coming home late, taking too long to return from an errand or going away for the weekend with friends.

In order to manage these fears, you may resort to overt levels of control in order to feel safe as you force them into servitude instead of partnership.

The downside to this is your partner may feel like a prisoner in the relationship which replays the angry/overbearing parent – rebellious child role resulting in the self-fulfilling prophecy of abandonment.  

In playing the role of the angry/overbearing parent to a partner you feel needs to be controlled, you keep true intimacy and connection at bay to protect yourself from feeling vulnerable.

In your mind, you’re constantly reliving old trauma which makes it hard to remain in the present and not see your partner as a potential threat as others who have hurt you in the past.  

As such, you might feel that you’re waiting for the next shoe to drop around betrayal and abandonment.  This can result in spying on your partner, searching their belongings, accusing them of cheating with no evidence as you continue to relive old trauma in the present.
